Altitude Guide

High-altitude travel needs acclimatization and good pacing. This guide helps you prepare for Himalayan routes.

Acclimatization

Increase altitude gradually. Plan rest days and avoid overexertion during the first 48 hours.

RuleSleep low when possible, climb high slowly.

Hydration & nutrition

Hydrate consistently. Add electrolytes. Eat light but frequent meals.

Limit alcohol and heavy smoking before and during the expedition.

Common symptoms

Headache, nausea, fatigue, and poor sleep are common early symptoms.

Report symptoms immediately. Do not hide issues to “push through.”

Emergency mindset

Safety beats itinerary. Descend if symptoms worsen.

Carry personal medication and consult your doctor for altitude prophylaxis advice.
