Do you need a permit for Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake? What to carry, what documents are checked, and how permits are arranged on our tours.

Some of the best-known places in Ladakh, including Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake, need an Inner Line Permit. On our tours the team arranges the permits for you, so the main job on your side is to carry the right ID.

Where you need a permit

The Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake legs of both our Ladakh tours need Inner Line Permits. Rules, fees and the places they apply to can change, so we check the current position before each batch.

What we arrange for you

Inner Line Permits, the Ladakh union fee and environmental or wildlife charges are included in the price of the motorcycle expedition and the Moon Land tour. Entry tickets for stupas, monasteries and sights are not included.

What you need to carry

Permits are issued against your ID, so send your details when you confirm the booking.

  • An original government photo ID: Aadhaar, voter ID or passport
  • A valid driving licence for the motorcycle expedition
  • Your booking confirmation
  • A few printed copies of your ID and permit

Permits on the Spiti trips

Our summer and winter Spiti trips include all required Inner Line Permits and local permissions as well.
