Itinerary
Day 1: Shimla to Sangla via Narkanda
Depart from Shimla in your premium 4x4 SUV. Drive through the apple orchards of Kotgarh and Narkanda, descending into the Sutlej Valley. Reach Sangla by evening with views of the Baspa River and Kinner Kailash peaks.
Day 2: Sangla to Chitkul to Kalpa
Drive along the stunning Baspa Valley to Chitkul — the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibet border. Walk through the village, visit the temple, and soak in views of snow-capped peaks. Return and drive to Kalpa for breathtaking Kinner Kailash vistas.
Day 3: Kalpa to Nako via Pooh & Khab
Drive along the Hindustan-Tibet Highway. Pass through Pooh, visit the Khab Bridge confluence where Spiti meets Sutlej. Ascend to the serene Nako village. Walk around the pristine Nako Lake and visit the ancient monastery.
Day 4: Nako to Kaza via Gue & Tabo
Enter Spiti Valley through Sumdo check post. Visit the mysterious Gue Monastery housing a 550-year-old naturally preserved mummy. Continue to the magnificent Tabo Monastery — dating back to 996 AD. Arrive at Kaza, Spiti's headquarters.
Day 5: Kaza — Langza, Hikkim & Komic Loop
The crown jewel day. Drive to Langza — the fossil village with a towering golden Buddha statue. Continue to Hikkim to post letters from the world's highest post office. Reach Komic at 14,931 ft. Lunch with a local Spitian family for an authentic experience.
Day 6: Kaza — Key, Kibber & Chicham
Visit the iconic Key Monastery perched dramatically on a hilltop. Continue to Kibber village and cross the thrilling Chicham Bridge — Asia's highest suspension bridge. Explore Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary for Himalayan Ibex and blue sheep.
Day 7: Kaza to Shimla (Return)
Early morning departure for the long drive back. Retrace the route through Tabo, Nako, Pooh, and Rampur. Arrive at Shimla by evening with hearts full of Spitian memories and a certificate of exploration.
