Ladakh is high from the moment you land: Leh is at about 3,500 m. That makes trip length a safety question as much as a sightseeing one. Here is how many days to plan, based on our two Ladakh trips.
Why you cannot rush Ladakh
Flying straight into 3,500 m gives your body no time to adjust. The first day should be spent resting and drinking water, and the highest points, such as Khardung La at 5,359 m, come only after that. Short trips that go high on day 2 are the most common cause of altitude sickness we see.

Both trips start and end in Leh, with the rest day first.

Adding travel from Delhi
Most people fly from Delhi to Leh, about an hour and a half, and join the group on day 1. Book flights that land on the morning of day 1 and leave after the airport drop on the last day. Flights are not included in our price.
Can you do Ladakh in 4 or 5 days?
You can see Leh and one of Nubra or Pangong, but it means less rest and faster height gain. We do not run a shorter trip because the rest day and the gradual climb are what keep the group well.

How many days are required for a Leh Ladakh trip?
At least 6 to 7 days from Leh, starting with a rest day. Our Ladakh trips are 6 and 7 days.
Is 5 days enough for Ladakh?
It is tight. You would have to skip either Nubra or Pangong or gain height too fast. Six days from Leh is a safer minimum.
How many days for Leh Ladakh from Delhi?
Plan 6 to 7 days in Ladakh plus a travel day on each side if you fly from another city, or join the same day by a morning flight from Delhi.
How many days do you need for a Ladakh bike trip?
